The Roanoke Valley .NET User Group (RV.NUG) , with support from Microsoft, the International .NET Association (INETA) and the Roanoke Valley SQL Server User Group (RVSSUG) is hosting the FIRST Roanoke Code Camp on Saturday, March 3rd at Virginia Western Community College. This is an all-day, all-free event consisting of 4 tracks for a total of 20 presentations.
What is Code Camp?
Code Camp is a new type of community event where developers talk with-and learn from-fellow developers. All are welcome to attend and speak. Code Camps have been wildly successful, and we're going to bring that success to Roanoke, VA.
An original Code Camp organizer, Thom Robbins, wrote a six-point manifesto: Code Camps are (1) by and for the developer community; (2) always free; (3) community developed material; (4) no fluff - only code; (5) community ownership; and (6) never occur during working hours.
What can I expect at Roanoke Code Camp?
You will get one full day of talking about code, data, and process & design with fellow developers at Virginia Western Community College. Sessions will range from informal "chalk talks" to presentations full of code samples. Speakers range from members of the local development community to Microsoft MVPs. Presentation levels are typically introductory and intermediate, but there will be a few advanced sessions as well.
